Local MP Returns to Selima for a Catch Up
It’s been over four years since Sheffield Labour MP Clive Betts opened Selima’s Head Office and on 20th March 2015, the local politician returned to see how things have progressed. Mr Betts was given a tour of the offices by Sales & Marketing Director, Michael Parry, Operations Director, Brian Copley and Nigel Owens from YFM Equity Partners; YFM helped fund the management buy in of Selima back in 2012.
During the tour, Mr Betts was pleased to learn of Selima’s success since his original visit back in 2011. The Company have seen growth of 10-20% each year and now forecast growth of over 30% for 2015/16.
Selima are immensely grateful to Clive Betts MP for supporting local businesses and opening their building back in 2011.
Michael Parry said, “The plaque in our reception showing Clive opened the office is of huge importance to Selima. When a potential new client visits our premises, seeing the involvement of our local MP enhances our credibility and adds to the feeling that we are a company that can be trusted to deliver an exceptional customer experience”
As well as their strong growth, Selima have achieved ISO 9001 & 27001 accreditation and received top marks of excellence on BACS inspections – a source of pride to their staff and in particular, Brian Copley.
Selima were proud to show Clive the quality of the technology developed at their Head Office in Sheffield, giving him a quick overview of their modern HR Software that works on any device and web-browser. The Company also incorporate Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) into their proposition, essential for a modern workplace – employees can view their payslips, book holiday’s and raise expense claims online using their mobile.
As a local MP, Clive was keen to discuss job creation and whether the Company’s growth has seen an increase in the number of employees. Brian Copley was happy to report Selima now employ an additional 30 employees since Clive opened the office in 2011, most being from the local area.
Clive was also impressed to hear that Selima have successfully taken on two local apprentices who are thriving under guidance and support from Karen Perkins, Selima’s Payroll Manager. Both apprentices are rapidly developing essential business skills and are working towards NVQ qualifications.
Selima plan to expand their apprentice scheme and reach out to more young people from the local area.
