Selima strengthens on-demand services with Cloud Computing Centre
Selima has signed a new multi-year agreement with the Cloud Computing Centre to host and manage its payroll, HR and expense management software. The move enables Selima to respond to burgeoning interest in software-as-a-service (SaaS) and provide the reassurance of optimum data security for its clients.
Selima selected the Cloud Computing Centre based on its ability to provide a fully secure, hosted and managed service for its customers. Graham Whitehouse, Selima’s managing director explains: “The public sector has been at the centre of several instances of data loss over the past 18 months, making security a key issue in any new IT project. As the Cloud Computing Centre’s infrastructure is backed up by ISO27001 accreditation, we’re confident it will form a ‘seamless’ extension of our services.”
Whitehouse continues: “As we are dealing with highly sensitive HR and payroll information on a daily basis, it’s imperative that our customer’s data is secure, backed up and always available, which is a key element of what the Cloud Computing Centre was able to offer us.”
Previously Selima used a traditional hosting service where hardware was purchased, put in racks within a data centre, with Selima managing the entire process. Whitehouse explains: “We wanted to upgrade the way we hosted solutions for our customers to a truly cloud-based service and needed a partner that could improve our infrastructure management and virtualise environments more effectively, providing improved connectivity and support.”
Whitehouse adds: “We believe the Cloud is the key growth area for our business over the next five years. We already have approximately 15 of our customers in the Cloud and many more are looking to make the move. As interest in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) model continues to grow, we are looking forward to integrating the Cloud Computing Centre with our sales and support teams to pass on the flexibility and efficiency of the cloud-based services to our clients.”
