The Symphony Group is the UK’s largest privately owned manufacturer of fitted kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furniture with a turnover exceeding £100 million. With the economic crisis of 2008, efficiencies had to be found but Symphony was not willing to compromise on its relationship with its customers and unmatched service and quality. Savings had to come from keeping back office systems and processes lean and increasing automation wherever possible

Critical Action

Symphony’s payroll system needs to be flexible enough to cope with different pay frequencies yet reliable enough to make sure everyone receives the correct wage on payday.

Integration was of crucial importance to Symphony when looking for a new payroll provider – they already had in place a time and attendance system which needed to work seamlessly with their payroll.

Selima HR & Payroll was integrated seamlessly with Symphony’s time and attendance system to provide a complete joined up solution.

Employees clock in and out and Selima’s sophisticated payroll uses the data to ensure employees are paid according to the hours they have worked – without any manual intervention. Data is also used within the HR module to monitor attendance and manage absences accordingly.

Using Selima HR & Payroll integrated with their T&A system has meant that, in difficult economic times, Symphony Group can run a very lean back office at much reduced cost.
