Volkswagen Financial Services (UK) Ltd (VWFS) provides finance and insurance services to customers across Volkswagen Group UK Ltd. The group includes some of the most popular automotive brands including Audi, Porsche, Bentley and of course Volkswagen.

Established in the UK in 1994, VWFS had always managed its payroll process completely in-house. In 2006, VWFS recorded over one billion pounds of consumer lending, representing a significant milestone
for the company, which has been surpassed in subsequent years. Between 2010 and 2015 VWFS more than doubled its workforceto 850 people, therefore it needed a payroll provider which would support the company’s ambitions.

A tender process was implemented in late 2013 to source a provider. VWFS employs both full-time and temporary staff, who receive a wide variety of benefits. Therefore stability, scalability and user experience were key considerations in the choice of provider.

Selima won the contract and since April 2014, has delivered accurate payroll services to VWFS. The switch was described by VWFS as “seamless” and it became apparent after parallel testing that VWFS would be able to trust Selima. The payroll process now takes just under two days, saving nearly three days’ work per month. VWFS also now have the confidence that should they need support, their dedicated knowledgeable payroll manager is just a phone call away.

Selima’s online payslips have helped realise additional time savings as the user friendly portal allows employees to reset their own passwords without needing to contact HR. Employees have given feedback that they love the look and feel of the new payslips and find the system easy to use.
